Three people, including two teenagers, were stabbed to death by their rivals following a Facebook status in Kapasia upazila of Gazipur area on Sunday morning.

The deceased were identified as Naeem, 18, son of late Alam Hossain of Dakshingaon area, Farooq, 26, son of Alam Miah of the same village and Robin, 15, son of Hiron Miah.

According to local sources, a clash took place between two rival groups in Dakshingaon area of Nammania union of the upazila on Sunday morning over a Facebook status on a woman. The clash left Naeem, Farooq and Robin seriously injured.

The injured were taken to Monohardi Upazila Hospital in Narsingdi where on-duty doctor declared Naeem and Farooq dead. Beside, Robin was sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where duty doctor declared him dead on arrival.

ASM Nasim Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kapasia Police Station, confirmed the matter.
